RAQUIS

RAquis.jpg

“Where and how can we make the wines we envision?” was the almost philosophical question the three founders asked themselves when looking for the right spot to launch their project.

Through endless tastings, vineyard visits & producer feedback, they created the Raquis Map – a chart of Mendoza that represents the best vineyards, plots and spots for vines - that would allow for intensity, layers of flavour, palate texture and agility.

“The wines should enter the mouth with breadth and softness, gaining speed and tightening the stretch in a long and complex finish where the memory is fixed on texture”. This is how Andrés, Facundo and Ariel describe the desired drinking sensation for their wines - realised by focusing on the sub regions of Agrelo in Luján de Cuyo and Gualtallary in the Uco Valley.

Both sub regions have characteristics in common that are fundamental to the winemaking philosophy at Raquis. On the one hand they have rugged topograpohy with exposures, hills and slopes of different orientations. On the other, they have never been cultivated which allowed for native vegetation and a 100% natural context.

The project launched only in October 2023, but demand already exceed supply, so we are extremely fortunate to have secured a small allocation for the Netherlands.
